Talerddig Bank Autumn 1966.

Taken by the main road just east of the closed Comins Coch Halt, 75071 ascends Talerddig Bank with the evening up mail train in the spring of 1966.

The recording was done in the dark from the road over-bridge just short of Talerddig summit in the autumn of 1966 of the up evening Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury mail train, the locomotive is an unidentified 75xxx.

The photograph is from the spring of 1966 of the same up evening mail train, slightly lower down the bank east of Comins Coch Halt (closed). Although the number is not visible I think by deduction it's 75071. In addition to a double chimney it has a BR1B tender, these tenders were fitted only to the Southern Region allocation and didn't work on the old Cambrian lines. However 75071 was transferred to Croes Newydd (Wrexham) in 1964, the only SR class member to end up in Cambrian territory.
