Alan Maund's Kerr Stuart 'Wren' Class No 3114.

At a very young age I was introduced to railways by my father, and of course also met all his railway pals over the years. My father died at the young age of 65 in 1987, but one of his pals - Alan J. Maund of Worcester - passed on at the very young age of 52 in 1983.

Alan had a passion for small industrial steam locomotives which he, quite correctly surmised, were fast becoming a rare breed by the late 1950s, and he set about the restoration of one. He created a hand crafted book in the early 1960s detailing the restoration of his Kerr Stuart 'Wren' Class 0-4-0 No 3114 and it has remained in the care of his wife Wendy since 1983.

Wendy has asked me to make this book accessible to all, and it can be downloaded by clicking in the attached documents box at the top on the right.
