Grundig TK 245 Tape Recorder.

My school-friend Michael Bailey, who now lives in Penarth, purchased the very similar looking TK220, a high specification 2 speed 2 track valve machine - still in excellent condition considering it's nearly 40 years old. The 2 & 4 in the model number refer to the number of speeds & tracks - the model that superseded it was the transistorised TK247. This review is taken from the March 1968 issue of Tape Recorder magazine. Following the March 1968 Budget tape recorders attracted Purchase Tax at 33.3% and the price of this machine went up to £114.9s 0d.
